Growing up in Southern California, I was lucky enough to take summer trips to Mexico with my family. The towns we visited were often small and humble but the energy that filled the streets was so much more. The sounds were chaotic, the colors were loud and intense – but altogether, it felt rich, vibrant, and authentic. My earliest memories of feeling deeply inspired were in these soulful parts of Mexico and in many ways, these experiences ignited my creative journey and had a huge impact on my growth as a designer. 

 

The beautiful thing about travel is how it changes you as a person. It invites you to experience the world from a different perspective, discover beauty in new forms, and usually leaves an impression on you that is everlasting. Good design has the power to do the same. It can spark an emotion, capture a memory, and leave you feeling inspired and alive. I have always been fascinated by this.

As I go forth in my career as a designer, I look forward to the people I'll meet, the places I'll see, and the experiences I'll have that enlighten me, change me, and push me to be a more dynamic designer. I look forward to creating spaces that not only look and feel good, but leave an impression on people that they'll remember for years to come.
